___________________________________________________ ABOUT VELO AFICIONADO

Since 2011 Velo Aficionado has been publishing ripping cycling yarns, for dedicated cycling enthusiasts.

This cycling story began back in 1975 in country New South Wales, Australia. With forty years of racing and riding bikes plus a long career as a professional portrait headshot photographer in Brisbane, Robert Cobcroft combined his enthusiasm for bikes and imagery into Velo Aficionado.

Velo Aficionado is inspired by the extraordinary accounts of bike racers and the artisans who hand crafted the special bike equipment they raced on.

The mission for Velo Aficionado is simple, to go the extra miles, no matter how many, to uncover those truly amazing stories about bike riding that no one else will.

Sometimes lost and unreported, some private, some larger than life, these uncommon accounts given by cyclists, bike collectors and bespoke bike builders are each deserving of a special place where they can be shared for everyone.

Velo Aficionado exists for these extraordinary bike riding stories.

___________________________________________________ THE CRANK

The character for The Crank formed in the mind of John Caskey, through decades of riding with race hardened club veterans. The Crank is the embodiment of these archetypal veteran bike riders, whose bike riding stories are embellished each time they are recounted.
